With hindsight we have agreed to be more picky in relation
to Walmarts we choose to stay in. Last night’s was in far too
busy an area, so we were disturbed throughout the night with all sorts of
noises and then some kind of industrial sawing at 6am ‘saw’ to it (geddit?)
that I was not getting back to sleep (don’t blame me for the bad pun, I’m
over-tired). I was convinced that we would not be spending a penny in the store
as punishment and to maximise our free night.
But what’s a girl to do with extra hours in her day if not for
shopping?! I bought socks and bread –
boom!

We also crossed into the province of Manitoba |
Hitting the road at our usual time of 11am we made solid
progress east for over four and a half hours today, to reach Riding Mountain
National Park and breaking the 22000-mile mark in the process.
There were no kiosks open at the gate and no
staff to be found.

Surely this is prime Moose habitat..... |
We weren’t sure where
or if we would find a camp site open, but as luck would have it we found a dirt
cheap dry camping spot by Moon Lake.
And
best of all, yet again we are the only campers on the entire site and the fire
wood is free.

It was just about warm enough to do some blogging outside. Does a bear bog in the woods? Apparently so... |
Shock news – this lake is in its
liquid form.
May there be a chance to
get the kayak out tomorrow?
Last time I
hoped for good weather in a park it snowed, so hold on to your hats and tune in
tomorrow to find out!
(I hope you like a
cliff-hanger?!)
