Tuesday
I woke up a little early so stretched my legs by walking to
the beach knowing that the majority of the day would find me confined to
a car seat.
Looks like we've made it back to Spain |
We checked in to our hotel and enjoyed one last seaside dinner in the Iguana café on the beach.
Just time to squeeze in one last beach! |
The hotel I had booked was somewhat bizarre. When we arrived we had trouble finding
reception and a parking spot. Mostly
because there were strange drapes blocking our way up the ramp to the
hotel. Eventually a member of staff came
to our aid. Having found our room it all
suddenly made sense. The mirrored walls, dark wall paper and x-rated TV
channels. I had inadvertently booked us some kind of ‘sex hotel’ where people
meet for secret love-ins. The car spaces
are hidden and so is the reception so that the staff don’t have to see the
clients’ faces! No wonder it seemed strange!
Whatever the basis of the hotel, our room was clean and very
comfortable. We solemnly packed our
cases for the return journey to the UK.
Wednesday
All went smoothly waking up and driving the hire car back to
Barcelona airport in plenty of time for our flight. Conveniently, EasyJet fly direct from
Barcelona to Southend so having touched down about noon we were back at Simon’s
parents’ house in no time. Time to get
on with some post-holiday washing, joy!
There was one good thing about getting back to the UK
today. It meant I could Facetime my
nephew Alex so that he could tell me first hand all about how his first day at
school went today.
