After a good night’s sleep, we had breakfast straight from
the BBQ before the drinking recommenced and we opened some presents:
Simon’s family had gone to the trouble of sending a couple of packages all the way from the UK, so we finally got to discover the contents – a hammock for the garden, some jewellery for me and some cheques! All gratefully received. The Kellas’s bought us our very own gas BBQ – now we can cook BBQ daily like proper Kiwis!

Then it was time for our Christmas Lunch – including pigs in
blankets, cheese and crackers, Christmas pud with brandy sauce and the table
laid with all the trimmings.

It was a rainy day so we didn’t feel bad
about being inside. We just relaxed, got to try out all the cars (whilst
stationary) and played lots of games, just like Christmas Day ought to be! We even squeezed in a late afternoon nap to
re-energise before continuing the festivities late into the evening.
