Monday 24th December - Christmas Eve

We had been invited to spend Christmas with the Kellas’s at Huihana’s Dad, Phil’s place near Hawera which is in the Taranaki region, about four- or five-hours’ drive away.  We drove ourselves, meeting the Kellases on route at Mikes Brewery (with Colin the Dodge Aspen) for some beer tasting and lunch.

We reached our Christmas hideaway. What I haven’t mentioned yet is that Phil’s place is a classic car museum housed in an ex dairy factory. What a cool place to get to spend some quality time.

Check out this line-up of classics...
We were given a quick tour for starters, most importantly being introduced to Huihana’s very own 1959 Studebaker Lark that they used as their Wedding car:

and Phil's very classy 1958 Studebaker Commander:

What an amazing collection of cars and motorbikes.

It took Simon hours to create these easy-to-use scoreboards for their darts den for their Christmas presents

We gave the Kellas’s their Christmas present early, that Simon had spent so much time creating (above). Then it was time to commence the drinking and darts. I even managed to win halve it for once with this nifty bullseye (left).
