Instead of just hanging out at Alexander Springs for the day
I thought it would be good to explore more of what the area had to offer –
other springs are available! But for an
additional high fee it seems. We didn’t
find anywhere that came close to what we already have in Alex’ Springs so we
just wasted some extra gas and had a drive around.
We decided to head back and take another shot at kayaking the springs – this time ensuring that we inflated the boat properly. It was much better that way! We reached much further down the stunning river, seeing numerous turtles, birds and even a couple of otters which was totally unexpected. (I have a couple of good videos that I would love to be able to share with you, but they exceed the 100MB limit and the videos I've tried uploading do far have not been working properly).
We were enjoying ourselves so much that we completely lost track of the time (plus we didn’t have a watch between us!). We had booked ourselves haircuts at ‘Curly Sues’ in Deleon Springs, about 30 minutes away. Luckily I rang ahead to apologise that we were running somewhat late and it wasn’t a problem. It was my first cut since we’d left the UK, now we were all spruced up ready for Christmas!
