The beginning of another financial week – time for some mundane essentials. After some skyping we headed North-East
towards Nashville, stopping for a propane fill and a Walmart shop en-route.
Then it was on to Nashville!
Not being country music fans we had not held such importance on
spending as much time here as we had in Memphis. This was lucky as we couldn’t find anywhere
nearby to stay that met our budget and we struggled to park as well! We managed to leave the RV in a 15-minute
maximum stay bay to get these shots:
Simon returned to fend off any parking attendants whilst I went to find
the Visitors Centre which confirmed my fears about how much it would cost to visit
any attractions! To rendezvous with
Simon I walked a different way and found Broadway, which is where the majority
of the live music bars are. There was
music spilling out of every premises and a party atmosphere, Simon couldn’t
miss this! The only parking that we
could find was the old double-meter trick again and having gone into a bar to
get quarters we had enough for 30 minutes parking! Talk about a fleeting visit! We speed-walked to Tootsies, enjoyed one
beer and two bands (different band on each level of the bar). Even on a Thursday afternoon there was a
great atmosphere that made us wish we could stay on a lot longer.

Not a bad parking spot for the RV - if only we'd had more quarters! |
Back in the RV we toured some more of the city including
Music Row – containing numerous record companies responsible for producing the
vast majority of country music and stars:
Nashville was definitely an example of a City
we stopped in but can’t say we really explored.
A downside to us trying to cover such a quantity of the States is having
to miss out on quality at times. This is definitely one city that will be worth
a re-visit sometime in the future.
We had a second night booked in the same RV park as last night
so we headed back for some more blogging to finish off the day.
